In the span of 450 pages of Kathryn Stockett’s incredible THE HELP, I alternated between giggling, snorting, wanting to a punch a wall, choking back tears and — finally — letting those tears fall. The novel broke my heart and then healed it, and I feel like a different person — a different reader — after finishing.

With fully-drawn characters and the uniquely Southern setting, I couldn’t read this novel fast enough. Stockett does a masterful job of building suspense and anxiety while simultaneously keeping us engrossed in the plot. The bravery exhibited by nearly everyone in the story was inspiring and, like the Grinch, I felt my heart swelling way beyond its normal size.

For me, THE HELP absolutely lived up to the hype — and I felt so much while reading, which is the hallmark of an amazing book. I really didn’t want it to end and wished I could live forever with Minny, Aibileen and Skeeter, the latter of whom I identified with so much. But I wanted more for them. And, more than anything, I wanted them to have happy lives.

An important novel that tackles Major Issues in a dark period of American history yet still manages to be entertaining, lively, affecting and unbelievably moving? The Help is truly a rare find, and it earns my absolute highest recommendation.

I had planned on getting a different steam cleaner but after reviewing both that one and this one, I decided on the SteamVac. After using it, now I’m a believer. It picked up an astonishing amount of dirt. It was fairly easy to use once I got the hang of it. Had no problems with leaks or anything like that. Scared the bejesus out of me everytime the dirty water vessel became full; the manual says the motor sound gets higher…uh no kidding significantly higher, louder, but it’s just noise. Fairly intuitave, I like that you can turn the motor on with your foot and relatively easy to move around. Takes almost no time to assemble, needing only a Phillips head screwdriver. Comes with a small bottle of cleaner, worth about 3 tanks.

I’ve used a number of different shampooers (I worked as a custodian for a time.) and as a non-commercial shampooer/steam cleaner this is excellent. I’ve found that Hoover make really fine quality rug cleaners that provide more bang for their buck than some other brands. Recommended.

I purchased this along with my new Canon SX20is camera, and I love it! It has plenty of space for video and pictures and I’ve downloaded from it and deleted footage off of it, and it works brilliantly. I’d definately recommend this brand again!

I can see why this book is so popular in the culture we live in (the USA). There is a no fault clause on whatever you decide to do. No sin, nothing offends God, we are perfect in what we do at all times. Do whatever feels good. This is a great book to share with your 14 year old son or daughter if you want them to be totally depraved. God is not as stupid as this author makes him out to be.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I was surprised how many times I laughed out loud as I read the story of a man who found himself working in the circus. I highly suggest this book to those that just want to be told a story. No mystery, some romance and lots of laughs and thrills. I will read other books from this author!

This is really a good game for the family. We have a lot of fun. I got the item earlier, which was really good. That why I like to buy from Amazon, because so fa so good I haven’t gotten no problem yet. I really recomend this game to any body. I was looking for this game all the stores over St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Clearwater Florida and no ones have it, but when I look in Amazon.com I saw it and I bought it right away. I’m a happy customer.

When a person says that God inspired them or told them something the first question that should come to your mind is which God? The God of the Bible? Don’t think so as it contradicts many of the ways and teachings that that God revealed through others. Perhaps it is the God of this world, Satan? He is a good candidate since he likes to contradict the God of the Bible. And then there is the God of Islam, and the gods of hindu and the gods of shinto and so on and so on. And there are religions that say you are a God so then this is just a book about the author expressing his own opinion and since he makes some claims that are scientifically false, perhaps this is the God he is really talking to.

Artemis Fowl is a great book for kids.

This book is about a 12 year old boy named Artemis who is a genius and has a head for schemes. Artemis along with his body guard Butler go on adventures in an attempt to get his families fortune back. In order to accomplish this task his current scheme is to see if he can steal fairy gold without dying.

The Fairy world is made up of a lot of different creatures who are policed by a group called the LEPrecons. Holly Short a member of the fairy LEPrecon Unit gets herself kidnapped by Artemis. The LEPrecon force works to save Holly, stop Artemis, and protect there most favorite thing…Gold.

This the first of many adventures that Artemis, Butler, and Holly have together. I would recommend this book to anyone who would be willing to go on an adventuress adventure.

What a beautiful story. I’m a school librarian and we were looking at titles we could use for a Literature class. Now we’re planning on using these titles for our students to compare and contrast perspectives from Leon’s Story, To Kill A Mockingbird and a few others.
