the help is a wonderful book with intriguing characters , the african american
ladies have resilitude and strength while the white character, skeeter
is a force to be reckoned with and never wears her bravura on her sleeve.
i am from the south, and we all know nouveau riche white trash like celia
and uptown witches{for a better word} like miss leefolt and
the antagonist hilly.
the book was a joy to read until, the final chapters, i just feel extremely let down
while hilly may have had her” just desert”, i felt she was allowed to
triumph in the end over abileen, one of the main african american characters.
in the book. i thought the ladies would triumph over hilly, and expose her for
what she is, instead, i feel like hilly got the upper hand.
i was really looking for a dynamite denoument of hiily and never got one.
is a sequel in the works?
