A Genuine, True Classic. Once you read it again, you realize what a profound effect it had on American literature at the time. What a tragedy that Salinger went into seclusion and deprived the world (except his family) of his talent. Hopefully a family member will publish his work soon. The Catcher in the Rye

This pedometer is amazing and has proven a god send for me. I am recuperating from some serious knee problems and hurt them months ago by pushing things too much and overwalking. I am in the obese category and was on a mission to loose weight. I started walking and this plus watching what I ate helped me loose 20 pounds. But I was walking over 3 miles some days and to no surprise I seriously injured my knees. This led to no activity and physical therapy. Now I am at the point where I can ease into walking again and after much research this was the pedometer I chose to help me.
I have only the highest praise for it. It is so easy to use and the instruction manual is so easy to follow as you set it up to get the best and most correct results. It has you set in your individual stride which is the length of each average step you take. This way each measurement it gives is as accurate as possible. Most important to me is the distance and this pedometer accurately reflects distance, steps, aerobic steps and calories burned. The unit is very durable and easy to attach. It has two different clips you can use. It is a life saver for me for when I go out on my walks the actual distance walked is always further than I thought. I live in a major city and what seemed to me as a pretty short walk was 1 1/4 miles. When I did a different walk the distance was 2 1/4 and I was in pain after. I know my current limitations and the pedometer helps me to be sure I never go over the distance which is my limit. And to my surprise I am walking at quite a pace for 3/4 of my steps are aerobic steps. I will continually need to be aware of how I walk with distance etc. to be sure my knee problems don’t come back and this pedometer is my most essential tool. It is accurate, very user friendly and provides readings on all things necessary to keep track of what you exert with each exercize and to monitor everything as efficiently as possible. My research certainly paid off her

After J.D. Salinger died, my 92-year-old mother expressed interest in reading The Catcher in the Rye, so I ordered a used copy of the book The Catcher in the Rye through Amazon.com and had it sent to her. She really enjoyed reading it and gave a review of it at her retirement home book club. She told them she loved the book. I asked for her comments for this book review, and she said:
“I was curious because I heard that after J.D. Salinger died the book is deemed a classic. I hadn’t read it because at one time it was banned. I learned a lot about Holden Caulfield–coming of age. I laughed a lot when reading great descriptions of characters. I could gloss over swear words. A fun book open- ended.”

Twilight is one of my favorite novels. The plot is intensely romantic, exciting, and creative. It’s a superb story of teenaged star-crossed lovers. The love interest, Edward Cullen, is the ultimate portrayal of almost every girl’s ideal guy. The protagonist, Bella Swan, is smart, down to earth, and the kind of young woman everyone can identify with. In summary, the story is about teenager Bella Swan who moves to a rainy, dreary town and falls madly in love with an extraordinarily handsome vampire who attends class with her at her new high school. The conflict is that the two, though highly drawn to each other, should not be together because Edward has a hardly controllable urge to suck Bella’s blood which would kill her. This forbidden love creates great tension for a highly passionate love story. The plotline is also applaudable with super exciting action scenes reminding me a little of a great action/adventure movie with its engaging suspense and even a thrilling and memorable fight scene at its conclusion. On top of everything, the book is really pretty pure and clean, so most parents will feel comfortable letting their kids read it.
